#WalkDetroit

Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) has launched a six month “wayfinding” campaign called Walk Detroit to inspire residents and visitorsto discover Detroit. The campaign will run from July 7, 2015 and will

conclude on November 30, 2015. Through a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, DDP is using the Walk [Your City] (WYC) toolkit. WYC is a civic startup focused on building more livable cities. The startup developed an online walkability toolkit allowing people to get involved in making their communities more vibrant and walkable. The toolkit consist of street signage and an online site mapping the routes and corresponding signage. Using the WYC toolkit, DDP installed more than 50 strategically placed signs at various intersections covering 100 city blocks of Detroit. The easy-to-use signs will highlight routes to take throughout the city. DDP is excited for the campaign to bring a renewed energy to the city by encouraging you to discover downtown Detroit.
