Tour Guide

Type: Part-time, contract position

Job Description:

A Detroit Experience Factory Tour Guide is an individual with a strong passion for Detroit who works directly with the public to improve their knowledge and perception of the city. This position will be responsible for:

• Leading tours of all kinds, including:

  • Bus Tours

  • Walking Tours

  • Virtual Tours

• Ability to retain historical facts, deliver relevant information personably, and answer questions from tour participants in a helpful manner

• Basic use of scheduling app to request and accept tour shifts, view notifications and receive updates

Qualifications/Requirements

• High level of Detroit knowledge

• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively

• Strong customer service and presentation skills

• Strong communication and networking skills

• Great public speaking skills

• Punctual and reliable

• Flexible schedule

Preferred Skills

• Detroit residency

• Public speaking experience
